During a recent appearance on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, actress Jennifer Lawrence got candid about her time working on the controversial movie, revealing that despite her role as the flick’s eponymous character, her understanding of Mother!’s famously convoluted plot hinged on her intimate relationship with Aronofsky.

"On a scale of 1 to totally confused, how much did you understand your film Mother!?" Cohen asked the No Hard Feelings star on Monday, June 26.

"I’m going, to be honest," replied Lawrence, who dated Aronofsky between 2016 and 2017. "Well, I was sleeping with the director, so I had CliffsNotes. So … 5? Or a 4. But if anybody needs any tips on understanding their films, you know what to do!"
